The Gereformeerde Gemeente Arnhem is a christian community based on what God tells us in the Bible. We believe that the Bible is the word of God.
We believe that God created heaven and earth – and therefore the people as well – good. Because the first humans were disobedient, sin entered the world, which is the source of all misery and trouble.
In the Bible we read: ‘This is how God showed his love among us: He sent His one and only Son into the world that we might live through Him’ (1 John 4:9). Because Jesus Christ – the only Son of God – came to earth and bore the penalty for sin, there is a way back to God, to live in harmony with Him once again. God promises everyone who believes in the Lord Jesus Christ the forgiveness of sins and eternal life.
Church services explore this further, calling us to acknowledge our sins for God and ask for His forgiveness. The forgiveness of our sins is a reason for great gratitude, for which the Lord God alone deserves the glory.
